This is a “Drive-n-go”, meet-up trip. Three Oaks (starting & end point) is about a 1.5 hr. drive from downtown Chicago. We’ll meet at 10:30 ET / 9:30 CT at the Dewey Cannon Trading Company & Bicycle Museum.
The self-guided, color-coded and sign-posted routes follow secondary roads. Condition of MI country roads can vary, so participants should be comfortable with riding on back roads. (Participants should be confident road riders or those who want to gain more road riding experience.)
We’ll poll riders in advance on their preferred mileage (32 or 43) in order to focus on the desired route. One option is the Lake Michigan Trail (32 miles), which is rated as green (easy), See pdfs of the route maps at https://www.applecidercentury.com/backroad-bikeways
Lunch stop will likely be in Sawyer, MI with food & beverage choices available at Greenbush Brewing Co. or Sawyer Market.
After the ride, you can add-on stops in other local towns-- Michiana, Grand Beach, New Buffalo, Three Oaks, Union Pier, Lakeside, & Harbert.
