2025 Banff and Lake Louise Ski Trip Report
Combined Downhill and Cross-country Ski Trip to Banff, Alberta, Canada - February 12-18, 2025
The Lakeshore Ski and Social Club’s most recent trip was to Banff, Alberta, Canada. It was an unforgettable winter adventure packed with incredible skiing, breathtaking scenery, and delicious dining.
We hit the slopes at Lake Louise, Mount Norquay and Sunshine Village, enjoying sweeping alpine views, and thrilling downhill runs. The cross-country skiers explored Lake Louise Ski Resort and the Canmore Nordic Centre, gliding through some of the most beautiful sights on Earth.
Highlights for some included hiking up Tunnel Mountain, with stunning panoramic views of Banff and the Bow Valley, venturing into Golden, British Columbia, for an exhilarating day of snowmobiling through rugged mountain terrain, an exhilarating two-horse open sleigh ride and a trip to the top of Sulphur Mountain on the Banff Gondola for even more stunning views of Banff.
Throughout the trip, we indulged in some of Banff's best dining, with standout meals at Farm & Fire for wood-fired treatment of elevated Canadian cuisine, Park Distillery for craft cocktails, Three Bears Restaurant and Brewery for a creative menu paired with a wonderful variety of great beer, and Zyka, an Indian restaurant that was a group favorite. From thrilling outdoor activities to top-notch food, this trip was a perfect winter getaway in the Canadian Rockies.
Many thanks to Larry Kyte and Marty Monaghan for arranging this amazing adventure for the 26 intrepid participants.

Assistant Trip Leader
