Hiking Fort Sheridan - SaturdayJanuary 30, 2021 - 10am to 3pm



At 10 am, we will meet at the Fort Sheridan Main Tower, 210 Leonard Wood South, Highland Park, IL 60035 and walk across the parade ground, an historic landmark, to the Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve. Then we’ll hike the birding loop (1.7 miles), which showcases views of Lake Michigan, prairies, ravines, bluffs and a military cemetery, as well as the 1-mile Hutchinson Trail.  In the afternoon, we will hike the Openlands Lakeshore Preserve area. The parking lot for the Openlands Preserve is located about a mile away at 3136 Patten Rd, Highland Park, IL 60035.
