Hike or Snowshoe at Morton Arboretum - Friday, February 5, 2021 - 10am to 1pm
Depending on snow conditions, we will either hike or snowshoe on the trails of the Morton Arboretum. If trails are icy with not enough snow, we will use micro spikes (Kahtoolas) or Yaktraxs for more grip and traction on the trails.
IMPORTANT!!! The Arboretum requires timed admissions passes, so you will need to purchase a pass online on the Arboretum’s website specifically for 10 a.m. on February 5, 2021. Passes are free for members, $15.00 for adults, $13 for seniors. Click here to get your reservations.
The Morton Arboretum is a great outdoor museum of trees. Its living collections inspire visitors to appreciate, learn about, plant, and protect trees. The Arboretum champions the world's trees through plant collections, science and conservation, education, and outreach. It has 1,700 acres hold more than 222,000 live plants, situated on a moraine and bisected by the East Branch of the DuPage River. The Arboretum is planned and planted to nurture and display trees and shrubs in environments conducive to their growth.
Also on the grounds are the Visitor Center with The Arboretum Store and Ginkgo Restaurant and Café, four-acre Children’s Garden, one-acre Maze Garden, Sterling Morton Library, Plant Clinic, nine miles of roads, and 16 miles of trails.
