The July Wine Dinner at Vinci,1732 N Halsted, Chicago is four course dinner with selected wines, all for the price of $63 plus tax and tip. Reservations are required, thus a signup at lssc.org is necessary. Vinci allows checks per person or multiple people on one check.

Meet at Foster Beach Field House – Foster Ave at Lake Michigan – and bike to Glencoe Beach. Stops include Shakespeare Garden in Evanston and Bah’ai Temple (bathrooms). Bring lunch or eat at a local café. Plan for a leisurely ride 10-12 mph for approximately 32 miles.

A special afternoon with Zachary Damato, co-founder of Urban Rivers, who will give us a private tour of the Wild Mile, a unique mile on the Chicago River where a floating eco park has changed the biodiversity and invited new species of wildlife such as Chonk, the snapping turtle. After the walking tour, we will kayak the Wild Mile for approximately one hour. If more than 7-8 people, we will divide into two groups.
We will meet up for dinner at Jiang Niu BBQ House right afterward and everyone pays individually.
Kayaks will be provided for by Urban Rivers and REI.
RSVP on LSSC website and cost of the walking tour and kayak use will be in the form of a suggested $50 donation.

Bike from Beans and Bagels in Ravenswood to Chicago Botanic Gardens and back. Taking North Branch trail out and Green Bay trail back. Lunch at Botanic Garden and refreshment stop at Blacklot Coffee. in Evanston. A new route keeps us off most of the streets! Total miles are just under 40. Scenic route through Wilmette. SPECIAL TOUR of the 19 model trains and Botanic Garden by John Peart, Engineer.
