Join us for an evening in Edgewater beginning with dinner at Mas Alla del Sol, a neighborhood favorite. We‘ll enjoy classic Mexican cuisine and relaxed conversation before heading to the show, just a 10-minute walk west from Broadway to Rivendell Theatre Ensemble to see Pivot, a sharp, dark comedy kicking off Rivendell‘s 30th Anniversary season. Set in rural Nebraska, Pivot explores ambition, family, and the messiness of getting what you want – with humor, heart, and just enough chaos to keep you on your toes. Theatre, great food, and lovely company – an easy yes.

Let‘s have dinner at Mrs. Murphy and Son’s Irish Bistro. Opening its doors in September 2005, in the heart of Chicago’s North Center neighborhood, Mrs. Murphy’s has been serving up scratch made Irish pub favorites, complemented by proper pints, a friendly wine list, and a deep list of Irish whiskeys (now more than 70!) for 20 years.

Greek Islands will be the location for a gathering of LSSC members and friends for a wonderful taverna style dinner in Greek Town. $51.00 includes complete meal, tax and tip. Cash bar from 6:30 to 7:30 is extra. Parking in restaurant lot included – just tip! This is an always popular dinner and an annual tradition.

Every year we join the Friends of the Chicago River for its annual Chicago River Cleanup Day. Our cleanup location to be announced and restaurant for lunch will be determined by our location. Register with LSSC first and then with Friends of the Chicago River on their website once our location is set.

Save the date for Sunday, May 17th! This program offers a refined Sunday combination of world-class music, historic Chicago venues, and a shared dinner experience. We’ll enjoy an elegant Sunday afternoon beginning with a 3:00 PM piano recital at Symphony Center, featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Evgeny Kissin performing with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Following the performance, we’ll gather for dinner at Mercat a la Planxa, located inside the historic The Blackstone Hotel, where members can relax and share conversation over Spanish-inspired tapas and paella.
